This Extension helps users fill in their GST (Goods and Services Tax) portal login fields automatically. Because it handles login credentials, we want to be precise about what the Extension does with your data.
To provide the autofill function, the Extension accesses the following information that you choose to save within it:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where is the data stored? | Locally on your own device, using Chrome's storage.local API. |
| Is it sent to any server? | No. Your username and password never leave your device. |
| Is it encrypted? | [Yes, using ... / No — confirm and fill in] |
| Do you (the developer) have access to it? | No. Since the data is stored only on your device, Mothercare Infotech cannot see, access, or retrieve it. |
Because all data stays on your own machine and nothing is transmitted over the network, your GST credentials are never visible to us or to any third party.
The stored username and password are used solely to auto-populate the login fields on the official GST portal ( www.gst.gov.in ) when you choose to use the autofill feature. The Extension does not use this data for any other purpose, such as analytics, advertising, or profiling.
List each permission from your manifest.json and explain why it's needed, for example:
| Permission | Why it's needed |
|---|---|
| storage | To save your GST username/password locally so you don't have to re-enter them each time. |
| activeTab / host permission for gst.gov.in | To detect the login form and fill it in on the GST portal. |
| [other permission] | [reason] |
All data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the Extension erases all locally stored data, including your saved GST username and password, automatically.

We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, including relying on Chrome's built-in storage sandboxing, which keeps each extension's local data isolated from other extensions and websites. [If you also encrypt the stored username/password before saving them, add that here — e.g. "We additionally encrypt stored credentials before writing them to local storage."] However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and users should keep their device and browser profile secured with a strong password.
chrome://extensions, which removes it and its locally stored data from your browser. This Extension is intended for business and tax-filing use and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
